Frequently asked questions.

How many meters can I order?

Our minimum order is 1 meter for cotton and linen. Our polyester and velvet base cloths have a 5m minimum order. You can order up to 100 meters (or more).

Why are there different price points per meter?

We print our fabrics digitally, so it’s all made to order. Therefore there are unavoidable set-up costs for print runs under 12 meters and all orders require extra material to be fed through the machines. For orders above 12 meters the set-up costs fall away so it becomes much more economical per meter the more you print.

Are the base cloths different widths?

Yes – our base cloths have different widths and therefore have different print widths:

1. Cotton – 1.5m wide – approx. 1.46m print width

2. Narrow linen 1.48m wide - approx. 1.44m print width

3. Wide linen 1.77m wide – approx. 1.74m print width

4. Polyester 1.45m wide – approx. 1.40m print width

35. Velvet 1.40m wide – approx. 1.38m print width

Yes! That would then double the amount of cushions you can get out of the same meterage..

How much fabric do I need for upholstery and curtaining?

Please consult your curtain maker and upholsterer for the final meterage needed, but to get a rough idea for quoting purposes here is a handy online article

How long will it take to get my fabric?

All our fabrics are made to order, so depending on a few factors please give about 7 - 10 working days from payment to delivery.

How do I pay?

EFT is ideal. We require the full payment upfront.

Do you deliver?

Yes! We use a courier service to deliver all over South Africa and we can also arrange International courier. The courier cost will be worked out separately from the fabric needed and all will be invoiced together on order.

Do you give trade discount?

Yes! We do offer trade discounts to decorators.  Please email us here and we will send you a trade application to fill in.

How will the colour vary from the website to the actual product?

The digital images will always have slight colour variations compared to the physical material samples. Colour variations within the textiles are also influenced by the characteristics of our meticulously tested cotton and linen base cloths. If you require a close colour match to the final colour, please contact an agent here to show you our physical sample books. Colours may vary with about 3 - 5% between orders.

Are the fabrics eco-friendly?

Definitely! Our printers use water-based, eco-friendly pigment inks and all our base cloths are natural fabrics.

Can I put the fabrics in the sun?

Unfortunately our South African sun is extremely harsh so nothing will last in full sun. However, our printing supplier uses the best quality Italian imported inks so they have the highest level of sun fade resistance and they can last for a few good years exposed to shaded sunlight. Our textiles are also treated with a colour- and lightfast coating post printing which also helps with sun exposure.

How do I clean the fabrics?

Gentle, cold machine wash. Don’t use strong detergents or bleach and avoid hard wringing or excessive rubbing. To dry the fabrics its best to drip dry or line dry. It's important to note that with pigment inks, minimal colour loss may occur after the initial wash, typically less than 5%.

Can I use the fabrics for upholstery and curtaining?

Yes! Our tried and tested base cloths are perfect for upholstery and curtaining - We do recommend adding a block out lining to your curtaining.

The rub count of our fabrics are between 30 000 and 40 000 rubs. We can also add an extra coating for high traffic areas for items like table cloths that need to be washed frequently. The post-printed coating treatment improves the fabric’s longevity and rub count and has an added water-repel ability. Our polyester and velvet basecloths have a very high grammage and rub count (40 000) and is perfect for upholstery in high traffic areas.

 How do I treat spills?

We recommend that you ‘Scotchguard’ the upholstered furniture, especially in areas with high traffic. Spills can then simply be wiped off the surface of the fabric. We do not offer this service, but please click here for a local Cape Town business to contact.

Where can I see your sample books and feel the fabrics?

Please make an appointment with one of our agents here. We have experienced interior agents per area: Cape Town & Winelands / Hermanus & Overberg / KZN & Midlands / PE & Garden Route & Gauteng. They can show you our sample books and give expert advice.

Please order directly through the agent.
